Where Do We Go?

As promised about a month ago, if not longer, here's the poem I wrote for Patrick. I know he's not going to see it, and I'm really not sure if I want him to. But here's the poem none the less. It's kinda hella long, but that's irrelevant.

Where do we go
When our time here is finally over?
Do we pass through the gates of heaven;
Frolic in Valhalla?
Spend eternity in happiness
However we chose to spend time?

Or do we wanter purgatory?
Do our souls spend all time
Trapped in that black hole
Of neither life nor death,
Not heaven, but not hell?
Doomed to wander until judgement

Do we roast in the sulfurous pits
That we perceive as hell,
Forever trapped in misery
For all our earthly sins?

Or maybe
Do we simply disappear
Our existences wiped from the slate?
Are our souls, so dear to us
Lost in the expanses of space
No longer there to love?
Our passions lost to time
Like a candle doused
Without so much as a trail of smoke
Left to remember by?

Is death a rebirth
Into eternity
To face forever happiness
Or endless torture?
Or is death the last frontier
The point of no return
The supernova of existence
From brilliance to nothing
With no in-between?
After life
Will we live forever
Or vanish without a trace?

Jeeze! Now I'm all depressed again. Sorry, loyal readers.

Thank you so much for the compliment, I truly appreciate it. And I think that you were wrong when you said that your writing doesn't portray emotion like mines does, because I definitely felt something when I read this poem.

Why thank you. The emotion in that particular poem was strong. However, in my stories, it doesn't seem to come across as well. I'm glad the poem did something for you.
