Ok, well, here's basically what's on my mind currently.
First and foremost, the impending release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Yeah, I know, I ranted for a fair bit about it in my last post, but honestly, I'm now counting milliseconds until I can get my grubby hands on a copy of the book. I cannot wait! I just saw a video on Yahoo! about people somehow getting copies or claiming to have gotten them and posting parts or the whole of the book on the internet. I suppose if you really wanted to find out what happened and didn't want to bother with the book, that would be something to to, but really, if you wanted to know what happened that badly, it would just be worth it to wait for the book. According to my desk-top widget, it is exactly 2 days, 4 hours, 15 minutes, and 20 seconds...19...18 and counting until the book comes out. I pre-ordered mine ages ago, so I'll be getting it on Saturday. My only fear is that I'll get it late. I'm getting it shipped, so I don't know what time it'll show up at my house. THat leads me to my next topic, because if the book doesn't show up at about 6 am, i'll be at
Championships! I did really well in prelims, so I'm seeded as follows: I officially got 13th in my 200 freestyle (but I didn't swim all that well- I should have a good shot at moving up in that one) 10th (out of 10, haha, but only by about .03 seconds, soooo.....)in my 100 fly, and 8th in my 100 breast, which I didn't swim all that well either, so I'm pretty excited as I actually have a shot at getting points in that one. I'm certainly not getting first - the girl who won is baout 15 seconds faster than I am. Sad, really. But she's sort of psychotically good, and I'm really really jealous of her. But I'm pretty proud of myself. I've made it to championships in the breaststroke since I was 9, so it's nice to know I can still do it. As far as fly goes, I'm in the same position I was last year -10th out of 10. Bust last year, I managed to beat the other girl in my heat, and I actually beat a few girls in the other heat. Unfortunately, the way championships works, only the people in the first heat actually get points, so I could only get 9th even though technically I got 7th or something. And I'm in about the same place in the 200 free. That's pretty funny. Now my goal is to finally make All-Stars in the 100 breast. I didn't make it last year, and I really really want to make it this year.
So today we had a rehearsal for Angela's wedding. I'm so excited. "When I'm 64" sounds absolutely fantastic! Gil's friend listened to us and helped us out, and she thought we were teriffic, and she should know, so I'm pretty confident. Alas, we had to kick out "My Girl" because Father Bob decided that we needed a religious song at the wedding. So now we're singing "In the Garden". It's not terribly difficult, and the harmonies fall into place easily, but it's kind of a drag having to learn a new song when the wedding is about 2 weeks away. Oh well. We've never yet failed to sound amazing. I still feel guilty about wearing white to Angela's wedding - I feel like we're stealing her spotlight - but she insists she wants it. It's going to be so much fun! I only wish Rives was going to be there. Guess you can't have everything.
That's all for now, folks!
