Hello everyone. I know this is sorta weird for me, having an actual purpose for writing. But today I do. Because it's just something that needs to be said. And I'm going to say it. If you don't agree with me, well, that's your problem, and I think you're an idiot for it. But I digress.
Today, I'm going to talk about homophobia and such. Now, if you don't know me, you're going to look at this and go, "oh, she's about to come out of the closet." I'm not. As far as I know, I'm not in the closet. But I still have feelings in this matter. And I want to talk about them.
Basically, in the U.S, we're all about equality and freedom and individual rights. Or, at least, that's what we're supposed to stand for. For years - decades, centuries even - we've been fighting to get various groups acceptance and equality. Women's suffrage, racial equality, religious tolerance. The people of the United States have fought for all of that. Sure, there is still the occasional idiot who thinks blacks are inferior, or that women are weak and helpless. There are stupid people out there, and I'm afraid that's not going to change. However, we have accomplished a lot. Still, there's one more group that faces hate. And it's time that that ends. Now. That group is the Gay community. Various religions condemn being gay as sacrilegious. I want to know how anyone can believe in a God, or Gods, who would condemn a person just for being different. What happened to the God who loves all his children? Frankly, I find that disgusting, a religion condemning people for being different. That seems to me to be sacrilegious. The condemning of gay marriage because it's "destroying the sanctity of marriage"? Ridiculous. Marriage is the eternal union of two people who love each other. Then there are the people who see being gay as wrong, perverted, and disgusting. How can they say that? It's love. Love cannot be wrong. Love is the only thing that is always right! The fact that a person would hate another just because he or she loves somebody of his or her own gender is terrible. There's nothing wrong with it! The worst part, though, in my humble opinion, is the fact that there are people who are against gays just because they're different. Those people who have no reason to hate gays, but choose to anyway. That is absolutely disgusting. The terrible things people say about gays is enough to make anyone sick.
Do you people get what I'm saying? Am I getting through to you? I can only hope so. If I am getting through to you, thanks.
I have a book for you to read if you want a beautiful story relating to this. It's called "Keeping You a Secret", by Julie Anne Peters. You'll be enthralled if you're at all like me. I read it all in one sitting.
If you don't agree with me, how can I get through to you? Would it help if I found a group of people who decided to make life hell for everyone who, say, played a certain sport? Or people who listened to a certain band? Would that make it penetrate your simian skulls that it's wrong to hate someone just because he or she is different?
I have a mission for those of you who are reading this. Get rid of anti-gay speech where you are. Make people stop saying things like "that's so gay", or "he's a fag" or whatnot. Do the right thing.
